An enchanting sunset paddle on the river is perfect for a date night or an outing with friends! Arrive at 1000 Hobbs Island Road, Huntsville, AL 35803, 30 minutes early to sign in and get ready. Paddle to the tip of Hobbs Island for stunning sunset views, then return to the dock. The event is on June 22 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Sourdough Bread Class 101 š„šš©āš³
Due to popular demand, Pleasant Hill Farms is excited to announce the fifth Sourdough Bread 101 Class on June 22nd at University Pickers from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm! Using a cherished five-generation family starter, participants will learn to make sourdough loaf bread and rolls. This mild starter requires only weekly feeding, perfect for busy schedules. Attendees will gain basic sourdough skills, a loaf of bread, and the treasured family recipe. All materials are provided for this delightful baking adventure. Randolph School Acquires 26 Acres
Randolph School has acquired 26 additional acres, expanding the 51-acre Garth Road campus. This strategic move aims to reunite our two campuses and foster a unified community for Pre-K through Grade 12. They announced the Leo Center for Excellence, featuring a community gathering space, an additional gymnasium, an expanded performance area, and an Innovation Hub and Technology Lab.
Madison County Career Center Launching New Program
The Madison County Career Technical Center, in collaboration with Alabama Fire College, is launching a Fire Science program for the 2024-25 school year. This initiative will offer eight high school students from the Madison County School System the opportunity to receive training and education in fire sciences, preparing them for careers in the firefighting industry. The curriculum includes Volunteer Firefighter I, Firefighter II, and Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness and Operations courses. Upon completion, students can apply for scholarships to attend Alabama Fire Collegeās six-week bridge program.
Alabama A&M Approves $58 Million Student Center
During its June 14 meeting, the Alabama A&M University (AAMU) Board of Trustees approved the construction of a new $58 million Student Amenities Center. This state-of-the-art facility will enhance the student experience with gathering spaces, dining options, and student support offices, bridging the East and West campuses across Meridian Street. The building will include a food court, flexible theater space, student services offices, a campus bookstore, conference spaces, a game room, student governance offices, and outdoor pavilions. AAMU President Daniel Wims highlighted the project's role in transforming the campus and boosting North Huntsville's economic vitality. Construction is set to begin later this year, with student input shaping the final offerings.

The Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium will host the inaugural Kids Summer Splash Jump Fest from July 10 to 13, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
