Grab your paddle and be part of the North Alabama Zoological Society's (NALZS) first-ever Pickleball Tournament at Big Spring Memorial Park in Athens, AL, known as The Duck Pond, on Saturday, April 6th, with a rain date of Sunday, April 7th. Whether you're in it to compete seriously or just to enjoy some fun time with friends, your participation supports a noble cause. The tournament aims to raise funds for NALZS's mission, which includes promoting STEAM education related to nature, establishing a zoo in North Alabama, enhancing connections between people and animals, and supporting conservation efforts. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m., with the event running from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can register online through April 1, with the event open to the public and 150 team slots available for pairs of any age or gender combination. The first 50 teams to sign up will receive a complimentary event t-shirt.

Visiting Peppered Pig
Whether heading to a Havoc game with your friends, fueling up for a long walk about Lowe Mill, or just having dinner for two with your special someone, you never want to skimp on quality. But quality doesn’t have to be a fine dining experience. In my opinion, there are fewer things better than a classic burger to get you through a fun evening, and the Peppered Pig delivers.
Color Me Mine
Color Me Mine is a relatively new addition to the Huntsville area. It is a pottery painting experience, much like some of the others you can find in other cities, but there are also some minor differences.
When we arrived, we were greeted by an employee, who let us know which table would be ours, and invited us to take a look around at all the ceramic sculptures we could paint. They had plenty of options - there were more plain options like blank plates, bowls, and mugs, and there were small sculptures.

Huntsville History
April 5, 1916, The Huntsville Daily Times:
Manager C. L. Hackworth of the Picto Theatre announces that on Thursday and Friday of this week, he will display the wonderful talking moving pictures at his play house. The company putting on this fine program brings its own operators, music and all. It will be a real high-class show and you are invited to see it.
