Valley Arts and Entertainment Inc. receives grant from the Alabama Humanities Alliance
Valley Arts and Entertainment, Inc. has earned a competitive major grant from the Alabama Humanities Alliance. This award will help make possible a presentation about women performers who have impacted musical heritage and culture in Alabama. The program is aimed to impact youth, seniors, and emerging artists.
“My first and most important role is helping others to be the very best they can be through music education,” said Patrice Bivins, founder and director of Valley Arts and Entertainment.

According to a report, the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) now boasts the nation's largest mobile weather radar facility, thanks to its new partnership with FARM (Flexible Array of Radars and Mesonets). FARM, one of the largest mobile weather units in the country, specializes in studying storms like tornadoes, hail, and windstorms.
11 Huntsville police officers with 145 years of combined experience earn promotions
In a ceremony, Officers Ryan Burch, Edward C. Hall, Bradley Snipes, and Kevin Zurowski were promoted to Investigator. Officers Jordan Boyer, Stuart Hartley, Jason Holman, and Matthew Saltzman were promoted to Sergeant. Officer Corey Biggs was recognized for his promotion to Sergeant as well. Sergeants Taylor Davis and Brandon Hill were promoted to Lieutenants.

Huntsville/Madison County Chamber hosts ReLaunch Job Fair to bridge employment gap
The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber, in collaboration with the Alabama Career Center, the Alabama Community College System, local nonprofits, and community agencies, is set to host the ReLaunch Job Fair to connect under-resourced job seekers with local employers. The event will occur on Tuesday, October 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Huntsville (Entrance #7 on St. Clair Ave., across from the Huntsville/Madison County Public Library).
Mozza Pizza Huntsville is expanding with a second location in the city
Mozza Pizza, which quickly gained a reputation as one of Huntsville's top pizzerias after opening its 520 Jordan Lane N.W. location in 2023, is now preparing to open a second location at 8404 Logan Drive. The new spot, located in a SoHu strip mall anchored by a Kroger, was formerly occupied by a Chinese restaurant.
Von Braun Center reveals $2M Propst Arena renovation
The Von Braun Center (VBC) took center as it revealed a series of new enhancements to the Propst Arena during the Huntsville Havoc’s annual Meet the Team event. One of the key highlights of the evening was the debut of two oversized Daktronics digital videoboards mounted on both ends of the arena.

With a win against Pensacola, Huntsville Havoc moved to 2-0-0. The team will next face Pensacola today, October 25, at 7 p.m. CT at Propst Arena.

The Huntsville Havoc secured a dominant 4-1 win over the Pensacola Ice Flyers in their home opener on Saturday night. After a quick equalizer from the Ice Flyers, Huntsville's Doug Elgstam netted the game-winning goal in the second period. Jaunich struck again in the third to extend the lead, and Giovanni Procopio sealed the victory with a shorthanded, empty-net goal, completing the Havoc's impressive performance.

Week 1: Trey Greenwell, Decatur (15 tackles, a 60-yard pick-six, and a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown.)
Week 2: Noah Gaunt, Randolph: Gaunt went for 153 yards and two touchdowns at receiver in a 32-31 win over Class 4A No. 8 Madison Academy. He also recovered a fumble for a touchdown.
Week 3: Jake Jones, Scottsboro: led to a 42-35 win over Boaz, amassing 361 total yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for 226 yards on 25 carries with three touchdowns while completing 12 of 15 passes for 135 yards and another touchdown.

Week 7: Jaquess Greene, Muscle Shoals: Greene dominated in the first half with three catches for 150 yards and three touchdowns, adding a rushing score, as the Trojans defeated Athens 56-42 on Friday.
Week 8: Keaton Williams, Sparkman: Williams sealed the victory for Sparkman by running in the game-winning two-point conversion and throwing the final touchdown, defeating James Clemens 15-14.
