Huntsville sanitation rate to increase Jan. 1
Following the City Council's unanimous approval, Huntsville customers' sanitation rates will increase starting January 1, 2025. The updated rates are intended to help cover the costs of weekly garbage collection for over 70,000 households and the collection of yard debris, empty boxes, and other curbside items.

vs. Pensacola
The Huntsville Havoc took an early 2-0 lead against the Evansville Thunderbolts with first-period goals from Noah Finstrom and Buster Larsson. “Laurie Lee Schaefer, Miss America, will be in Huntsville tomorrow for the annual Randolph School Benefit Bridge at the Heart of Huntsville Mall. The Ohio beauty will make three appearances at the 11th annual benefit bridge and fashion show and will tour the Alabama Space and Rocket Center. She will arrive in Huntsville tonight. Her schedule tomorrow includes the morning bridge from 11 a.m. until noon; a children's party from 3:40-4:40 p.m.; and the evening bridge from 7:10-8:10 p.m. all at the Heart of Huntsville Mall. Proceeds will be used for improvements at the private school which will open a high school with the addition of the tenth grade next fall.”
