The Huntsville Times - October 20, 1942

Two new classes, in office management and refrigeration, will open tonight at the Huntsville High School under the University of Alabama war training program. Women are especially urged to register for these courses, W. C. Moore, Director of the school,said today. Registration will begin tonight at 7 o'clock and classes will be held each Tuesday and Thursday nights for two and one-half hours. Fred Scurry, Huntsville Arsenal, will teach refrigeration,and S. I. Tennyson, Redstone, office management. Subjects to be covered in office management will be: office work, office organization, appliances and equipment, order and procedure, filing, stenographic and service departments, branch offices, manual forms and reports, training and development of personnel, standards and conditions of work,leadership and morale, coordination, cooperation and control of office. Operation and maintenance of refrigeration machinery will be taught in the refrigeration course.
